School Library Journal Reviews : SLJ Reviews 2002 June Gr 4-6-These revised titles (1993) are a must for any Canadian school library. The entertaining texts are responsive to curriculum objectives or general interest reading. Each volume is packed with effectively organized information. Native, French, and English perspectives are included as are first-person accounts of what it is like to live in Canada. The titles have been updated and address current issues such as the challenges facing Western farmers and refugees, and note the creation of a "first self-governed native territory" of Nunavut. Numerous full-color photographs illustrate the books; however, only Land includes a map. In terms of scope and intended audience, these are excellent works.-Robyn Ryan Vandenbroek, Elgin Court Public School, St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada Copyright 2002 Cahners Business Information.
