Pioneering in Canadian air transport

Summary: "From 1926 to 1942 Western Canada Airways and Canadian Airways were the largest air transport companies in Canada and with the formation of Canadian Airways, flyuing operations extended from coast to coast and from the United States border to beyond the Arctic Circle. In consequence, their history reflects much of the accomplishments of Canadian civil aviation as well as the problems that were encountered. In addition, the little known story of the evnets leading up to the formation of Trans Canada Airlines (now Air Canada) is presented, together with the reasons why neither Canadian Airways not the Canadian Pacific Railway felt able to participate in the final scheme for its formation as proposed by the Canadian government." - cover
